How To Transfer Token From other networks to Harmony
A token bridge is a way to transfer your tokens between different blockchains.
No responsibility disclaimer
1. Before the "bridge"
Requirements:
You will need to have a wallet (Metamask, Trust Wallet, etc.) to bridge. For this, check out our tutorial on "How to set up your wallet on Harmony".
You will need the current and destination chain's native gas token to pay for transaction fees.
Below are several popular bridging services:
Bridges | Links |
---|---|
Horizon | |
Synapse | |
Anyswap | |
EVODefi |
Be aware that NOT all tokens are supported to bridge at a certain bridge provider. If the token you wished to transfer does not show up in the bridging option, please consider using another bridging service available at the table above. Also, you can read through their documents about the supported networks and tokens to select the best bridge that suit your purposes
Please inform yourself that the demonstration below is NOT the ONE AND ONLY solution & you might find another better bridge for your preference. By the time watching this tutorial, the service providers may have changed the procedures and fees. Therefore, we recommend you to do your own research first to select the best service upon your preferences.
2. Bridging using Horizon bridge
Several Dapps offer Bridge function from Cougar Ecosystem existing networks to Harmony network. In this tutorial we will select Harmony native bridge - Horizon, to bridge $BUSD from Binance (BSC) network (due to its widely supported nature) to Harmony network.
Step 1: Head over to bridge.harmony.one
Step 2:
Connect your Metamask account to Binance Smart Chain and connect your OneWallet or Metamask to the Harmony Mainnet.
Step 3:
After confirming the token amount, select your Harmony ONE address on which you would like to receive your tokens.
Step 4:
Select a BEP20 token from the left (or fill in the contract address). As an example, BUSD is used in this guide. When all fields are correctly filled in click on Continue to perform the bridge action.
Step 5:
On the next screen just click CONTINUE.
Step 6:
Read the message with fees very carefully on the next page. You can click on Show more details for more information about the fees for this action. If you agree, click on Confirm.
Step 7:
The bridge action will begin and you will be asked multiple times to sign transactions using Metamask. Just click on Confirm for every action
Step 8:
If all went well, we have a successful bridge action.
Step 9:
You can now close the last screen at the bottom of the page by clicking on the Close button. You can also choose to do this in the opposite direction, from Harmony to BSC.
In order to see the corresponding asset on your wallet, you may need to add it manually. For this, you need the corresponding contract which you can find here.
On the example below, in green are the corresponding contracts for Binance BUSD on Harmony Chain and Binance Smart Chain (BSC).
Keep in mind the bridge has contracts for BUSD on both Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain (BSC). For you to see the funds, use the correct contract address.
